"Nonprofits who contract with the state can not compete with fast food, they cannot compete with Walmart, they can not compete with Amazon or other employers who are offering significantly higher wages and often better benefits and again this means some of our most vulnerable Kentuckians and many that we love are at risk," said Danielle Clore, CEO of Kentucky's NonProfit Network.
Nonprofit officials are urging legislation to pass an emergency clause to sustain services through June 2022.
